Believers Never Die (Volume Two) Tracklist:
I love the two new songs and understand that they need to take some time from making a completely new album. While some of the choices for greatest hits are debatable, overall I think that this a solid sampler of post-hiatus fob.
This is a compilation of the highlights of the 2nd phase of FOBs career. The 1st phase, compiled in the album of the same name, was a harder edge emo sound while this phase is much more pop rock. Very different but very satisfying to hear a great band evolve. FOB is just as relevant today as they were 15 years ago which few other bands can claim.
i used to LOVE fall out boy, but everything they’ve put out in recent years is just bland, overproduced, forgettable, and overall disappointing. call me when they start making music again.
Listen, I’ll always be the first one to back up my boys, but come on. I mean, I expected the singles being on here (even though I don’t agree with them being greatest hits.) But really? There are SO many songs that could of been on here. Even if they weren’t radio hits, there are a lot of streaming hits and hits with the fans of the band. “Jet Pack Blues,” “Save Rock and Roll,” “Heavens Gate,” “Bishops Knife Trick.” SO MANY should have been on here. NO “LAKE EFFECT KID?!” I don’t know, I guess I’m just disappointed. GREAT SONGS, don’t get me wrong, but, underwhelming. I also always thought the tracks that weren’t singles on MANIA were so much better than the singles. But yeah. Review over. Still love my boys.
This a greatest hits album from their recent years which is cool because you can listen to the old one and the new one and hear the evolution of the boys. Another thing I want to add is people who say the new music is garbage or this album is pointless you aren’t true fans! A true fan is someone who listens to the band no matter what even if they change/evolve. That’s what bands do over the years and they do what they enjoy because this is their job to make music they like and hope their fan base will still follow with them. So if you say you like old FOB or new FOB, but you don’t like them from start to current day and you call yourself a true fan you are wrong. Glad they put out this album, the new song is great, and still patiently waiting like a true fan for a new album.
I was an avid Fall Out Boy fan from 2009-2017. For me, the Young Blood Chronicles album was the crowning jewel in FOB’s crown. But then it all kind of went downhill with MANIA, sure, some of the songs were good, but it lost the authenticity of the past. Good on them for trying out new stuff, but I miss the old vibe.
Bob Dylan is amazing, so excited to see what new era it, along with Dear Future Self is going to usher in! Sounds really promising so far. Sad that there isn’t more MANIA songs being represented on here though, but that is my only complaint! Also, SEE YOU AT HELLA MEGA 2020!!!
